In his deeply personal work, “Trauma Is a Thief,” Dr. King draws on his own experiences within a profoundly troubled family — marked by sexual and physical abuse, abandonment, and multiple family addictions — to highlight the developmental and lifelong impacts of trauma.

Dr. Camarda — a distinguished NASA astronaut, aerospace engineer, and author — served as the Director of Engineering at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. He has made significant contributions to space exploration and engineering innovation and is the author of “Mission Out of Control,” a book that explores the importance of maintaining a research culture focused on learning and innovation to prevent accidents in high-risk organizations.
